Why mooncake as debut launch product?

There is a season for everything and similarly a reason for everything.

The coming mid autumn festival is one whereby the carried down value of the festival is about bringing people and family together. There are many legends to the mid autumn festival aka mooncake festival and according to one, mooncakes were the means that were used to coordinate and bring about a revolution in the Yuan Dynasty (AD1280-1368).

At that time, the Han Chinese was oppressed by the Mongolians. A Chinese rebel leader, Lin Fu Tong and his followers needed an unsuspicious way to pass on massage to the mass. Hence, they asked for permission from the Mongolian officers to give out mooncakes as gifts for the people. Unknowingly to the Mongolians officers, they placed a paper message in the mooncakes which indicate the information of time and location to stage the revolution – on the fifteen night of the eighth month. Words were spread among the people to cut open the mooncakes upon receipt. And this is one reason that leads to the success of the revolution.

You see, there is power in unity, just as this “gathering” of people to come together for a common cause, there is strength. This is similar to the main concept of our bunchshop. We select and gather products that are good and value for money and approached suppliers of these products for a set of price offers. The bunchshop allows people with interest in the same product to be gathered together by friends and friends’ friends for the commonly desired product with better price. As everyone make purchased and when the size large enough to hit the lowest price, everyone gets the better and lower price upon the closure of the deal.
